Luis Cetina

Luis Cetina is a principal government and regional affairs representative in the Legislative Services Section of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

In his 37-year tenure at MWD, he has worked in an array of departments including Survey, Substructure, Civil Design; Water Supply, Resource and Bay/Delta Analysis; and Property Management, Acquisitions, Annexations. At Metropolitan, Mr. Cetina promotes water policy among the various chambers of commerce, economic partnerships, and elected officials within the Inland Empire. As a representative of Metropolitan, he serves on business and community outreach-related boards. Fluent in Spanish, he serves as MWD’s representative before the Spanish-language media and has been interviewed for live and pre taped broadcasts with CNN Español, Telemundo, Univision and other local media outlets.

Mr. Cetina currently serves as President of the board for Foothill Family Shelter, a transitional housing program for families with children. He previously served on the boards of the Cucamonga Valley Water District (2012-22), Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce (2019-22), and the Association of California Water Agencies Region IX (2018-22).

Luis has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on the environment, from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. He and his wife, Karla, reside in Rancho Cucamonga with their six children, where he is active in his church and community.
